Dr. Ahmad Wassim is the Group Manufacturing Excellence Head at Al-Khaleej Sugar since September 2017. Before this, he was the Regional Manufacturing & Supply Chain director for Construction Company in UAE. Dr. Ahmad started her career at GSK as a junior pharmacist in the Production Division. In 1999 he took over the management in tablets production operations at Glaxo Wellcome (GW) Egypt. By Y 2K, with the global Merger of GW & SB, he became a Lean-Six Sigma Master Black belt and started Operational excellence implementation in GSK Egypt. Subsequently from 2003 to 2007, he became the GSK International Division Operational Excellence Leader, responsible for roll-out & implementation of the ͞Vision-Factory͟ configuration across the division, including Turkey, Australia, Japan, Asia Pacific & MENA.

He has an exceptional background and experience managing the end to end Supply Chain operations across both manufacturing as well as service organizations over the last 25 years through working in many countries, across the Asia Pacific and Europe and Middle East, as well as amongst different industries & organizational cultures including Electrolux, Samsung, IFFCO, and Hepworth P.M.E LLC. Dr. Ahmad’s education includes a B.Sc. Pharmacy, and an MBA followed by DBA specializing in Operations Management from Westbrook University in Canada. Passionate about continuous learning & education, knowledge sharing as well as part of his commitment to CSR, Dr. Ahmad has been working as a Free-Lance trainer & business consultant for many years, as well as a part-time faculty member in different universities (AUC / AUE / GU).
